Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time, we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. (Galatians 6:9 NIV)

Living a life of sacrifice enhances human dignity and value before God. Almost every patriarch of old have had to live sacrificially to be relevant in the eyes of the almighty. It is not different today in our daily walk with God and in our dealings with fellow men around us. To sacrifice is to be selfless with or without any hope for a reward.

In Numbers 11:11, we see Moses, the man of God pouring out his vexations and frustrations before Lord. He has given himself to the children of Israel in every way possible through God’s command and has been selfless yet no one sees his struggles and they keep adding pressure and burdens on him. As humans, we can get tired and discouraged serving others and God knows this. What is your labour of love? Is it in prayers over souls?, Is it over your family? , Is it in giving your time, energy and resources to make other lives better? Are you dedicated to just being a blessing to others?
Whatever your sacrifice is, God will never forget your labour of love. Hebrews 6:10 affirms God commitment to men and women of service: โ€œFor God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.โ€ We are admonished to keep at it and in due season, we shall reap, if we faint not.

This was one of the secret David traded with by encouraging himself in the Lord although he should have been discouraged that the people He was labouring over as king had no empathy towards him but rather talked about stoning him when he himself had his wives and children taken away captive by the men who sacked the town. But by knowing the right thing to do which is encouraging himself in the Lord, the table was turned in his favour and they were able to sing victory songs. By following in his footsteps, we are sure of our rewards from God Almighty that never owes any man.

Prayer point:
Letโ€™s thank God for the word today and letโ€™s pray for the grace not to be discouraged in sacrifice. Also, letโ€™s pray for an increase in the labourers in the body of Christ.

God bless you all!
