โBut he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.โ (Matthew 24:13)
Faithfulness is a great virtue that attracts tremendous reward. It is the emblem of loyalty, patience, consistency, steadfastness, and commitment. In our world today, although we give it a different name “endurance” it still remains the vital leading characteristic worthy of laudation. The secular work on the principle of receiving awards only when excellent work has been done. The athletes only receive a medal after a diligent performance of excellence. The academicians have a protocol of awarding certificates to students who eventually pass all their courses. Likewise in the vocational sphere, a certificate of competence is given to those who endured the rigorous phases of intensive training.
Just as it is in the world, so it is with God. Faithfulness that comes with persistent endurance until the end is what God wants from His children. During the life journey, not all will focus and be committed till the end. Just like in the education sector many are given admissions but only a few will eventually graduate, as many others may not make it because of inconsistency, truancy, not attending classes, or doing assignments. Likewise in the faith life, it is unfortunate that many that are first shall be last, and many that are last shall be first (Matthew 20:16). It is His will that all men should come to repentance and ultimately be saved (1 Timothy 2:4), however, staying faithful until the end is a choice given to all believers.
We can choose to remain faithful by having a perpetual goal of eternal glory as our hope in Him. We can equally be faithful by our acts of faith, love, and hope. Even though it is not going to be easy as the flesh, the world, and Satan are ragging against the Spirit in us, nevertheless, faithful is He that called us (1 Thessalonians 5:24). He well knows our struggles, temptations, and setbacks and personal challenges, but we know that His grace is sufficient to keep us from falling (2 Corinthians 12:9). The Lord wants to encourage us to be focused and committed by holding fast to our professions and looking steadfastly unto Jesus who is the author and finisher of our faith (Hebrews 12:2). May the lord’s peace rest upon you.
Prayer point:
Let’s thank Him for all He has been doing in our lives, and let’s also pray that He gives us the grace to be faithful until the end.
