Date: 19.04.2023
By: Daniel Peter
ย saying with a loud voice, โFear God and give glory to Him, for the hour of His judgment has come; and worship Him who made heaven and earth, the sea and springs of water.โ
Rev. 14:7 NKJV
The gift of knowledge was one of the first gifts of the Holy Spirit the Lord caused to manifest in my life. Because of this gift, some times he gives me access to the thoughts of people and help me to see who they are in the Spirit. It will appall you to know that not every Christian fear the Lord or is aware of His judgement. Some have been replaced in the spirit and have lost their leadership because of sin or unfaithfulness, though in the natural they appear unassuming.
Reading through the Revelation 14:6-11, it will be clear to you that the fear of the Lord is the emphasis of the end time message. For the end time is a time when God will be revealing His judgements on the world, and He has started with the Church(1 Peter 4:17). Sadly, many believers do not know what it means to fear the Lord or have knowledge of His instructions. This is partly due to the wrong understanding of the subject of grace, and the fear of the Lord that is taught is one that emphasizes just His reverance and void of the revelation of His wrath (judgment).
When Jesus Christ taught on the fear of God, He said “… fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell ( Matt. 10:28)”, revealing His judgement. If we know that there are consequences of sin, we will be restrained from sinning and it will help us to sincerely repent when we discover that we have sinned. Again, beyond our actions, God sees and judges our motives. Satan lost his place because of what he said in his heart (Isaiah 14:13). Being conscious of the presence of God and that He knows all things, even the secrets of the heart will help put us in order, even from our thought process.
You can’t obey the instruction you don’t know. The instruction for the Church is loving others as He has loved us (John 13:34). The more we know what it means to love like Christ, the more of His fear we can observe.
Prayer Point:
Let’s thank God for His word today. Let’s ask Him to help us to walk in His fear.
