Title: Fighting from Victory
By: Daniel Peter

for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith
1 John 5:4ย NIV
There is warfare that we have been called into, and the nature of the fight in this warfare is the fight of faith (1 Tim. 6:12). It is very important that we seek knowledge of how to engage in this fight, for any deviation from the rules of engagement implicates the believer.
In this good fight that we are engaged in, we don’t fight for victory, but from victory. By the virtue of what Christ did at the cross of Calvary, we have obtained the victory over the enemy. However, the devil being persistent, he would come to challenge us as though Christ hasn’t won the victory for us. Insisting on what Christ has done is what makes the victory to manifest.
For example, the moment we place our faith in Jesus Christ, we have become heirs of the blessing of Abraham (Gal. 3:14). According to the promise given to Abraham, he cannot be cursed, for God said “I will curse those that curse you “(Gen. 12:3). and Balaam said, “How can I curse those God has not cursed? Or how can I [violently] denounce those the Lord has not denounced?”(โญโญNum. โญ23:8โฌ โญAMPCโฌโฌ). Invariably, A Christian cannot be cursed. Now, despite the truth that a Christian cannot be cursed, the devil can still come with signs of a curse in the life of a believer. The way to experience the victory God has given us over curses is to insist on what Christ has done for us by thanking Him for it, casting out every spirit of contradiction, and declaring boldly the works of Christ in the face of contradiction.
Therefore, praying to break generational curses or any form of a curse becomes implicative because it affirms there’s a curse, which is a lie. The same is true for sicknesses; standing on the revelation that by the stripes of Jesus Christ we were healed (1 Peter 2:24), makes our healing manifest in the face of the devil’s contradiction of the feeling of pain or discomfort in our bodies. Though God may respond to someone praying “Heal me” because He is merciful, however, we have all been healed already and we can’t be sick.
We fight from victory by standing on the truth of His word, and we insist on it by thanksgiving, casting out the spirit of contradiction, and declaring what Christ has done for us in the face of the devil’s contradiction.
Prayer Point
Let’s thank God for His word today. Let’s ask Him to strengthen our hands for war (psalm 144:1).
