“My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:” (John 10:27).

It is true knowledge that Man is the most complex earthy creature; because he comprises the body (flesh), soul, and spirit. These three crucial entities, therefore, make man super different from regular earthly living creatures. Since these three entities are connected together to qualify the characteristics of a man, they tend to have an active influence on him. The flesh being the active form of natural man has its earthly advantage, thus controlling man in the natural world by means of vision, feelings, emotions, and touch. The flesh speaks expressively through the voice of ego, excuses, self-desire, self-centeredness, ambition, earthy convenience, luxury, and material desire.

The spirit of a man, therefore, is controlled either by God Himself through the Holy Spirit or by the Devil through demons and evil forces of Darkness. Now, it is an established fact that man being the most complex creature is a powerful tool that is desired by the flesh, the Devil, and God Almighty. Whoever of the three speakers (flesh, Devil, and God) the man agrees to, will certainly control him. There are times the three speak at the same time but the man needs to filter out which one he is truly loyal to, the carnal man urgently listens to the voice of flesh and most possibly the voice of the Devil.

A spiritual man, however, has three major ways to filter out the voice of God out of many other voices; by the word of God (Holy scripture), selflessness/obedience, and intensive prayer. The three ways must always work together otherwise, there will be inaccuracy or eventual error. Applying the word of God alone is not sufficient to filter the voice of God, because if one’s spirit is not connected to God in prayer, the flesh will drive the person to select only part of the scripture that favors the flesh which might bring in compromise, deviation, and confusion. Likewise, prayer alone is also not sufficient enough to discern the voice if one does not consult with the Scripture, because certain advanced demonic voice can speak to a man in a convincing manner.  To filter out His voice, one must also be selfless and willing to obey whatever the voice commands. Dearly beloved, to accurately filter out the true voice of God, we have to apply prayer and consult with the scripture about the situation. Below are proven confirmations of God’s voice;

• God being glorified above self at the end
• Absence of spiritual contradictions
• Absolute spiritual peace
• Absence of fear, guilt, and tension
• Obedience, humility, and selflessness
• Presence of God’s love.

Let’s thank God for today’s word. Let’s also ask Him to help us filter out His voice from several contradictory voices.
