But rise, and stand upon thy feet: for I have appeared unto thee for this purpose, to make thee a minister and a witness both of these things which thou hast seen, and of those things in the which I will appear unto thee;

Acts 26:16 KJV

“Get Up” is not just a phraseโ€”it’s a divine command. Itโ€™s an action word that signifies a shift, a turning point, and a call to walk more closely with God.

Falling is part of the human experience, but staying down is not your portion. As Proverbs 24:16 says, Though the righteous fall seven times, they rise again. Your strength is not in never stumbling, but in rising with Godโ€™s help each time you do.

God is calling you to get up, to rise from fear, failure, sin, complacency, or discouragement, so He can work through you. Just as He told Joshua after Moses died, “Now then, you and all these people, get ready to cross the Jordan River… I will be with you “(Joshua 1:2,5), He is also calling you into a new season of purpose and obedience.

Like Peter, who fell but was restored by Jesus and commissioned to โ€œFeed my sheepโ€ (John 21:17), you, too, are being restored not just for your own sake, but so you can minister to others and lead them to salvation. Someone elseโ€™s breakthrough depends on your testimony, your obedience, and your rising.

Get up. Your calling awaits. The destiny of others depends on your obedience.

Was it you or I who stumbled first? It does not matter. The one of us who finds the strength to get up first must help the others. GET UP!

Prayer Points:

  • Let’s thank God for His word.
  • Let’s ask for the grace to do His will no matter what may come our way.
  • Let’s ask God for the grace to be obedient to Him at all times.
