Title: God Is Not Slack

The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.
(2 Peter 3:9 NKJV)

ย

The Apostle Peter wrote these words to believers who were growing impatient, wondering why the return of Christ and the fulfillment of Godโ€™s promises seemed delayed. They looked at time through human eyes, but Peter reminded them that God does not operate according to our clocks or calendars. What feels long to us is never long to God. His timing is perfect because His perspective is eternal.

Peter teaches us that Godโ€™s seeming delay is not due to forgetfulness or weakness. It is an expression of His deep mercy. The Lord does not want anyone to perish. He waits because He loves. He delays because He desires that more souls will turn to Him in repentance. Every moment God gives is an opportunity for salvation, restoration, and transformation.

There are seasons when we feel like God is taking too longโ€”whether in answering our prayers, fulfilling His promises, or changing situations that weigh heavily on our hearts. But Scripture encourages us to trust that Godโ€™s timing is always motivated by His love and His desire for our good. What we see as delay, God sees as preparation. What we interpret as silence, God uses as a season of mercy.

In your waiting, do not lose heart. God has not forgotten you. He is working behind the scenes, aligning things according to His perfect will. Just as He is patient with the world, giving time for repentance, He is patient with youโ€”shaping, strengthening, and preparing you for what He has already ordained.

Beloved in the Lord, let us therefore hold fast to our faith, trusting the God who sees the end from the beginning. His promises are sure, His love is unchanging, and His timing is always right.

Prayer Point:

Letโ€™s thank God for His patience and His mercy toward us. Letโ€™s pray for the Grace to trust His timing, especially in seasons of waiting. Letโ€™s ask the Lord to help us use every moment wiselyโ€”growing in faith, walking in obedience, and helping others come to repentance and salvation.

God bless you all.
