There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens:
a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot,
Ecclesiastes 3:1-2
11 He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet[a] no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.
Ecclesiastes 3:11

You have probably heard the saying that God’s time is the best. This saying is true, as it ties well with what the word of God says and what we observe in life. God’s time is indeed the best.
But what is God’s time? Why should we keep to God’s time, and how can we keep to God’s time?

As we can deduce from the opening verse, God’s time is the time He appointed for an activity under the heavens.

We observe in nature that there is an approximate time for everything to achieve the best results. There is a time you should be sowing seeds and a time you should be harvesting. If you sow at the wrong time, the seeds might not grow as they should, and if you delay your harvest, your crops may rot. A baby takes nine months. Before 9 months is premature, and after 9 months is overdue, with each having its own problems.

Just as in nature, so it is with God’s plans for your lives and generation. In scripture, we see many examples of acting before God’s time or acting after God’s appointed time.
We see how King Saul impatiently went ahead to offer a sacrifice that was meant for Samuel to perform, and as a consequence, he lost his kingdom (1 Samuel 13:1-15). He was too early.
Also, we see how the Israelites stubbornly refused to go into the promised land at the appointed time, and then they tried to go after and were destroyed. They were too late! (Numbers 14:39-45)
We see how Jesus told his mother at the wedding feast of Canaan, “My hour has not yet come.”(John 2:4).
All these are to show that God expects us to walk in time with His plans for us. Do the right thing at the right time. It might be the right thing, but wrong because of the timing.

In conclusion, doing the right thing at the right time pleases God and leads to great gain, and for this, we need to know what the word of God says as a foundation and then what the Spirit of God is saying (present tense). For the bible says:

14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

Prayer Point:

Let’s thank God for this word today. Let’s pray for God to help us study the word of God and stay sensitive through prayer and fellowship with the Holy Spirit so that we can act at the proper time and please God, and obtain great rewards.
