 Title: Heaven on Earth

From heaven he made you hear his voice to discipline you. On earth he showed you his great fire, and you heard his words from out of the fire. Deut. 4:36 NIV

 God’s original plan was not a separation of heaven and earth, but a system where heaven and earth can co-exist together. Yes, the scriptures say “The highest heavens belong to the LORD, but the earth he has given to mankind (Psalm 115:16)”, which seems to separate the rights of operation, attributing heaven to God and earth to man, but considering that a third of man’s make up is spirit, which before his fall was always connected to God in heaven, we will find that man was not just a dweller of earth, but also a resident of heaven

 Now, where is heaven? I know the first thing that will come to most minds is that heaven is a location far above the sky, especially as Jesus looked up when thanking God for the bread He multiplied (Luke 9:16), but we must know that despite the physical world is a parallel of the spiritual, and though God uses earthly things to describe heavenly realities (in allegories), what is attainable on earth is not a direct depiction of what exists in heaven. Therefore, we use scriptures to interpret scriptures to understand the mind of God. With this said, let’s consider what Moses said about the presence of God and the voice that spoke to them in the wilderness. He said, “From heaven he made you hear his voice to discipline you. On earth he showed you his great fire, and you heard his words from out of the fire Deut. 4:36 NIV”. We see that despite the fire that accompanied the children of Israel was on earth, and the voice they heard came from within the fire, Moses said the voice came from heaven. Therefore, heaven is where the presence of God is made manifest. 

 Wherever the presence of God is manifest, that is where heaven is. As we live in the consciousness of His presence, we are in heaven, despite we are on earth. This means, there is no separation between us and God, no distance between us. This was how Adam lived before his fall, as Eden is a place marked by the presence of God. Again, despite this reality is presently available to us by faith, a time is coming when this reality will become evident to all when God brings New Jerusalem down (Rev. 21:1-3).

As the children of Israel were nourished from heaven by the Manna that fell each day, and the natural laws were suspended for them in the wilderness, we are always provided for by God and the miraculous follows us naturally as we dwell continuously in His presence. 

 Prayer Point:

 Let’s thank God for His word today. Let’s ask Him to help us practice His consciousness so His presence will always be made manifest to us.
