And she said, The Philistines be upon thee, Samson. And he awoke out of his sleep, and said, I will go out as at other times before, and shake myself. And he wist not that the Lord was departed from him. (Judges 16:20 KJV)

I once knew a TV host that was widely revered for his intelligence and special ability to cut through delicate global issues and also challenge leaders of many nations that he invites on his show to debate on serious national issues. His depth of research into the topics of discuss will not make any of his guests come unprepared and this earned him global respect. Unknown to me at the time, I didnโ€™t understand that his huge followership base was due to the popularity of the platform through which he reaches his audience because as soon as he left the station, he lost relevance and not many people heard from him again.

Samson fell into this category being a man used mightily of God to be a judge and deliverer of His people Israel from the hands of the Philistines. He didnโ€™t take care to know that he has a place of appointment where the security of his destiny is guaranteed. Rather, he began to live carelessly even in the midst of the enemies and it was only a shortwhile before the revelation of his power with God was known and this cut short his life and ministry prematurely (Judges 16:30). His relevance in Godโ€™s agenda ended abruptly.

Only by the mercies of God, Apostle Peter would have missed destiny when he decided to return to being a fisherman after the death of our Lord Jesus Christ. The Lord had appointed him as the rock upon which the church will be built, he had seen the power of God and yet, he was considering leaving all of it to go back to fishing. Thank God for the love of the Master that found him again and brought him back to his appointed place in destiny (John 21:4).

As believers, we must take care not to depart out of His appointed place or assignment for us due to circumstances in the natural because it can lead to miscarriage of destiny and the relevance that we have enjoyed in the courts of heaven may be cut short and a replacement may be sought.

Prayer point:
Letโ€™s thank God for His word today. Letโ€™s pray that we will not be missing in his appointed place for us. Letโ€™s also pray that we will not become irrelevant in His agenda for this generation.

God bless you!
