No longer will they teach their neighbor, or say to one another, ‘Know the LORD,’ because they will all know me, from the least of them to the greatest,” declares the LORD. “For I will forgive their wickedness and remember their sins no more.”

Jeremiah 31:34 NIV

God wants to be known, and for this reason, He continually reveals Himself. When promising the institution of the New Covenant, He said of us, “They will all know me” (Jer. 31:34). The word “know,” as used in Jeremiah 31:34, is from the Hebrew word “Yada,” which was the same word used when Scripture said “Adam knew Eve his wife” (Gen. 4:1). This means that the kind of knowledge God promised that we will all have of Him comes from intimacy with Him.

Just like the intimacy between a man and a woman, there is a need for communication between both parties, which will build closeness, before any form of copulation can occur. In the same way, there is a need for communication between us and God, before He can birth things in us. This is why our salvation experience is called a call to fellowship (1 Cor. 1:9).

Building closeness with God starts at salvation and continues as we spend time with Him in His word and prayer. It continues through the unique experiences He gives us through encounters with Him.

Just like the relationship between a man and a woman should be intentional by both parties, and both need to be willing, we must be intentional about our relationship with God and communicate with Him with a willing heart. As we spend quality time with Him, He impregnates us with visions, which He empowers us to birth in the natural.

That which we do for Him in the natural must be birthed in the Spirit. The Ark Noah built came from his time with Him, so should your ministry, marriage, business, and education, etc.
