Title: Jesus, the only way God

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. John 14:6

This is a very explicit statement from Jesus. Jesus made it very clear:  “No one comes to the father except through me”. He is not just another way to God, another truth teller, another way of life. He is the only way to God. The fullness of truth and life. Other related verses are John 3:16-19. And if we are to believe Jesus we must believe him completely.

Yes, that means, the “good” Muslim or “good” Buddhist or “good” Atheist, and in general that “good” non believer of Jesus Christ is not heading to God but to hell. I know this may sound hash but it’s the truth. We are not the once who set the rules but God and God has established that salvation be through His son Jesus Christ not by you attempting to do good works while defying His command to believe His son Jesus Christ and rejecting His sacrifice for the forgiveness of your sins. In fact the more you get to know who Jesus is and what He did for us the more you understand why He is the only way to God.

Since the fall of Adam and Eve through disobedience, we were cast out of the presence of God and became sinners by nature (Genesis 6:5). Now Jesus Christ, the only begotten son of God (and a man without sin) is the only one who died as an atonement for our sins so that who ever believes in him(which is how we accept his sacrifice) will be restored to the presence of God. Without the washing with blood of Jesus we are all dead in sin and complete slave to it (1 Corinthians 6:9-11). The devil knows very well that Jesus is the only way to God so he masterminds any faith that encourages you to do good without believing in Jesus. This in itself is counter-intuitive and futile because already you are born with a nature of sin and yet trying use to that nature to live righteously. But through Jesus we obtain a new nature in our spirit and receive the Spirit of God to help us grow in love (John 3:3, Romans 8:9, Ephesians 4:15). Through Jesus we have access to God’s throne to obtain mercy and grace in time of need (Hebrews 4:16, John 15:5).

Now I know there are those who died without a chance to know Jesus (or so we think. consider this verse  John 8:56-58 ). But leave that to God. At least you know and we are charged with a responsibility to share this truth with others (Matthew 28:19-20). Those who didn’t know will be judged differently from those who did know this truth (reference Luke 12:47-48).

Let’s thank God for the word today. Let’s pray for all men to come to know the one and only way to God, Jesus Christ His only begotten son.
