Title: Manifesting His Glory
By: Daniel Peter
Date: 29.11.2022
What Jesus did here in Cana of Galilee was the first of the signs through which he revealed his glory; and his disciples believed in him.ย 2 John 2:11 NIV
The most valuable materials on earth are not found on the surface. Usually, there is a need to dig deep within the earth’s surface to get the beautiful Jewels we admire today. Every human has a treasure within them, but as jewels under the earth, it is not seen initially until it is revealed.
The treasure within us is the life of Christ, who is the brightness of His glory (Heb. 1:3). The revealing of His glory in its fullness doesn’t just happen at the new birth, but a continuous process that is based on our yieldedness to Him. Like getting Jewels within the earth, there’s a digging, labor or work we need to do for His glory to be revealed. This was exemplified in the life of Jesus Christ, who at a time requested that the Father glorify His name in His life. The Father responded by saying “I have both glorified it, and I will glorify it again (John 12:28)“. By the word “again”, The Father’s response revealed that Jesus Christ experienced two levels of glory. The first level of Glory that Jesus experienced came after He was led by the Holy Spirit to the wilderness to be tested by the devil (Luke. 4:1, Luke: 4:14). The second level of glory came when He obeyed the Father’s will by dying on the cross at Calvary ( Mark 14:3, Luke 22:42, Rom. 6:4).
As seen above, Jesus needed to obey the instructions He received from the Father before He could step into the dimensions of Glory that He manifested. This was despite the inconvenience of the instructions (he was led to fast, then to die at the cross of Calvary). Obedience to the instructions of God is the needed work, labour, or digging that we need to do to see the glory of God manifested in our lives.
Prayer Point:
Let’s thank God for His word today. Let’s ask Him to help the body of Christ to do the needed work that we need to do to see His glory manifested in our lives.
