That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises. Hebrew 6:12 KJV

In the passed days, I have been speaking on the blessing, making us see that we have access to it by faith and not by works. It was clearly stated that we have been blessed with every spiritual blessing in Christ Jesus (Eph. 1:3), yet, not every one child of God is manifesting these blessings, despite we have access to them.

God himself is the blessing, and He came into us the moment we gave our lives to Him at salvation. The statement “work out your own salvation with fear and trembling (Phil. 2:12)” suggests that the glory of God (the blessing ) that is within us needs to be worked out so it can be seen by others. The work we do to see the glory of God manifest is called the work of faith not necessarily the work of the law. The work inspired by faith is what is referred to as the acts of faith. And this include obeying the instructions of the new testament and the revelation of the spirit.

This type of work that we do in the New Testament to see the manifestation of the blessing it’s actually the work of grace, for God himself is the one that enables us to do them. This was expressed in the statement “for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure (Phil. 2:13)”. Therefore, we don’t acknowledge ourselves for it, but the grace of God. Apostle Paul uttered this truth in a very clear and succinct manner. When talking about His accomplishments in the kingdom, He said “But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of themโ€”yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me. (1 Cor. 15:10 KJV). Notice how Paul said that He worked harder than the other Apostles, yet He was also quick to say it was not him, but the grace of God that was with Him. Though outwardly Paul was seen as the one working, but inwardly, it was the grace of God making him to will and to do (He gives the desire and the power to accomplish it).

In summary, the work we do to see the glory of God manifest is called the work of faith (or the acts of faith), and this is a function of grace, as God is the one who supplies the desire and power to do them. The extent of this power (grace) that is available to us to do the needed work is determined by the amount of time we spend in His presence (meditating and praying), and how yielded we are to Him.

Prayer Pointย

Let’s thank God for His word today. Let’s ask Him to help us access more grace in His presence so we can manifest the blessing we received at salvation.
