CALL TO PRAYER
Title: Many are called

For many are called, but few are chosen
ย (Matthew 22:14 KJV)
ย
Recently, I was on the phone with my cousin, and as I usually do with those I speak to, I encouraged him to work for the Lord and use every opportunity to preach the Gospel. To my surprise, he responded that he couldnโt go out and preach because he didnโt believe he had been called by God to be an evangelist. ย I have encountered this same mindset among many Christians. Sadly, it has become one of the major excuses believers use to avoid engaging in Godโs work.
Many Christians are waiting for an audible voice from heaven before they respond to Godโs call. But the truth is, we often expect something spectacular and end up missing the supernatural.
In the scripture above, our Lord Jesus tells us that manyโcountless, innumerable, multitudesโare called by God. If you were God and your goal was to save all 8.2 billion people in the world, would you send only a few? Certainly not. The harvest is indeed plentiful, and thatโs why God has called many laborers to go into the field (Matt 9:37).
Dear brothers and sisters, it does not matter who you are or what your past looks likeโBlack or White, rich or poor, young or old, whether you were once a drunkard, a prostitute, or even a murdererโGod can and wants to use you.
Consider the prophet Jeremiah, who was very young when God called him (Jer 1:4โ19). Or Gideon, who came from the weakest clan in Manasseh and was the least in his familyโyet God still used him mightily (Judges 6:15). And letโs not forget Apostle Paul, who persecuted the Church before he encountered Christ and was transformed into one of the greatest messengers of the Gospel (Acts 9:1โ31).
Throughout the Bible, we see that God doesnโt call the qualified; He qualifies the called. Donโt let the devil deceive you into thinking you’re not worthy to be used by GodโHe can use anyone.
Beloved in the Lord, you have been called to bear fruit (Jn 15:16). Let us respond to this divine call and devote our lives fully to the work of God. As Keith Green once said, โYou donโt need to hear a call; youโre already called!โ
Prayer Point:
Letโs thank God for His word today. Letโs ask Him to help every believer recognize that we have already been called, and to reveal to each member of the Body of Christ the specific areas in which we are to serve.
God bless you all.
