If our sojourn on earth is to make meaning, we have to be in constant touch with the kingdom from above which we represent here. One vital way this can be achieved is through intimacy with the Father, seeking to please the desires of the King. We gain ascendancy in the Spirit by ministering to the Lord.

Samuel started his journey of intimacy by ministering to the Lord under the tutelage of Eli the priest (1 Sam.3:1) . He was different from every priest that had come before him. As a child, his heart was after the Lord and everything that pertains to His house and the Lord took him a step further by beginning to reveal His mind unto him starting with his master Eli. Thus, Samuel graduated from a priest of the altar to a prophet hearing God per time and God did not allow any of his words to fall to the ground.

Although, there are different categorization of ministers, our focus today is ministering unto the Lord in sweet fellowship. Exalting and magnifying his Holy name both in prayers and songs of worship. David exemplified this character in his journey of intimacy into the heart of the Father even when he was at the back of the desert tendering to the sheep. The book of Psalms is loaded with many ministrations unto the Lord. He was so in tune with the Spirit of God that evil spirits disturbing King Saul couldn’t stand his presence when he is ministering.

This act opens up new spiritual realities in the courts of heaven unto us. We warm our way into the heart of the Lord by ministering to Him and He in return reveals Himself to us the more. Furthermore, He goes out His way to defend and protect His ministers (Ps 104:4).

Prayer point:
Let’s thank God for the word of exhortation and let’s pray that the King of kings will endow us with the grace to minister unto Him acceptably and also grant us access into His heart.
