But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord. These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God. Genesis 6: 8 -9 KJV

Every sincere believer who has been listening to the voice of the spirit and has been observing the fulfillment of scriptural predictions concerning the end time would know without a doubt that the coming of our Lord is imminent. Therefore, preparing for His appearing is a wise thing to do.

When speaking about His second coming and the end time, Jesus Christ compared the events of that day to what was in the days of Noah. He said: “But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be (Matt. 24:37)”. What was recorded about the days of Noah apart from life following its natural course was that there was great wickedness in the world and every imagination of man’s heart was continually wicked from his youth (Matt. 24:38, Gen. 6:5). In the midst of that extreme darkness, Noah was described differently by God, for he was called a just and a perfect man (Gen. 6:9). The word perfect as used in this part of scriptures is from the Hebrew word “tâmîym”, which means without blemish. It was the same word translated as “perfect” in Genesis 17:1, when God told Abrabam “walk before me and be perfect”.

Like Noah, the Church the Lord is coming for should be without blemish (Eph. 5:27). However, Noah attained perfection because of the grace he found (Gen. 6:8-9), and that grace to attain perfection is found in the presence of God. For scriptures said “Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need (Heb. 4:16)”. This is that time of need.

We come before God by simply being conscious of Him. As we live our lives in the consciousness that He is with us, we will be given grace to order our lives in such a way that we will be without fault (blameless). This was what men like Joseph, Job, Daniel and Abraham in his later years had, and it is God’s will for all His Children (Eph 4:12). We maintain our consciousness of Him by communing with Him from time to time.

Let’s thank God for His word today. Let’s also ask Him to help us walk in His consciousness and to intimate with Him.
