Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like: [48] He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock. ( Luke 6:47-48 KJV)

Becoming a son in the household of God is a process of maturity that is deliberate and requires separation from the multitude of children. Responsibility is for sons and although, the Lord calls many, only those who come to him show their willingness to take responsibility for the things of the kingdom and also to be foot soldiers in bringing the agenda of God to pass in this generation.

When Jesus deployed the seventy in Luke 10, it would have been impossible for him to appoint them if they were not first with him, hearing his sayings and doing them. Then he was confident to send them with detailed instructions as ambassadors of the kingdom of heaven. It was when they obeyed the Lord’s command on this mission that the devil’s became subject to them through his name. The name of Jesus, eventhough, it is a strong tower (Pro. 18:10) would have been useless to them if they had not obeyed him by doing what he had commanded them.

It is when your obedience to his word becomes your lifestyle to you that he will reveal himself to you and you will know him and begin to do exploits (Dan. 11:32). When his words becomes the lens through which you see life and not your own wisdom, then he strengthens your conviction by showing himself alive to you with many infallible proofs (Acts 1:3). The problem we have is that a lot are not willing to do what he says because it may not be convenient or rational eventhough they have taken the steps to come and listen. They abort the process by not proceeding to doing what he says. Until we are willing to obey his instructions and do that which he commands, our house will not be on the rock and the flood might wash it away.

Prayer point:
Let us thank God for His word today. Let us pray for the grace to obey him and do what he says at all times.
