Title: Opening The Door To My Love

I sleep, but my heart waketh: it is the voice of my beloved that knocketh, saying, Open to me, my sister, my love, my dove, my undefiled: for my head is filled with dew, and my locks with the drops of the night. [3] I have put off my coat; how shall I put it on? I have washed my feet; how shall I defile them? (Song of Solomon 5:2-3 KJV)
In the design of the human body, there are some sensitive parts called the sensory nerves. They are responsible for sensing and detecting any changes, upset or normal functioning of the body both outside and inside. Eventhough, we canโt physically see our bladder, the sensitivity of these group of nerves makes them detect and send information to the brain when needed which makes us start feeling uncomfortable so we can use the convenience.
Itโs the same way our spirit is built to be sensitive to the Holy Spirit when it comes alive through regeneration. Notice in our text that even at a state of rest, we can be sensitive enough to hear the voice of the One who loves our soul. He craves for an intimate fellowship and communion with us and at certain times, He comes down to dwell in His garden. When he comes, he will not do a forceful entry, he will knock and ask you to open to him (Rev.3:20).
The virgin in our text today had many reasons and excuses that seemed genuine not to open the door to the lover of her soul. Many of us today are a reflection of this virgin after getting back from work, school or a business trip and we feel physically exhausted, we give these catalogue of reasons to the Holy Spirit when he comes knocking for a sweet moment of fellowship.
If we answer to his sweet voice and open to him when he knocks at the door of our heart, he leaves us quickened( Rom. 8:11). The more we have this intimate communion with him, the more he reveals things to us that we will never have known by our intellect (Jn. 16:13) because he desires to educate us, so we can increase in capacity. He also guides us and deposits the grace to do Godโs will upon our lives.
Prayer point:
Letโs thank God for His word today. Lets pray for the grace to obey his voice when he comes knocking the door of our heart for a sweet moment of fellowship.
God bless you!
