“17 This is how love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment: In this world we are like Jesus.” 1 John 4:17
Did you know that if you raise a lion cub among another species like say goats it will end up behaving like those goats to an extent? So, for this lion to ever behave like a real lion ought to, its mind needs to be thoroughly renewed and rewired. Similarly, when we accept Jesus, we become children of God in our Spirit (John 3:5-8). So, all that Jesus is, is what we are in the spirit. What is left is for us to discover who we are from the Scriptures and pray for the power to live it out (Philippians 2:12-13). As Jesus’ we are powerful, rich and full of love.
We are Powerful because we can heal the sick, cast out demons, walk on water, speak with authority, practice self-control etc. all this in the name of Jesus who has given us authority (Luke 10: 17 – 20, Matthew 28:18-20).
We are rich because Christ became poor so that we may become rich. Prosperity or money is also part of these riches. In Christ, we have access to divine inspirations, wisdom, self-discipline, and favour which are elements that lead to excellence and wealth creation. However, the purpose of the riches is not only for yourself but also for it to be given; to the poor, needy and the advancement of God’s kingdom (2 Corinthians 8:8-10, Acts 20: 35). Storing up riches in heaven (Matthew 6:19-21).
Last but not least, we are love. God is love and we are His children so we walk in love. However, we need to understand what love is. For instance, when we read 1 Corinthians 13:4-6 “4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.”, we can replace the word “love” with your name “Joel is patient, Joel is kind, Joel doesn’t envy…”. So, whenever we forget who we are we must remind ourselves of who we are through professing what is written of us.
We are like Jesus in this world. We must grow in faith and love to look more like Jesus (2 Corinthians 3:16-20, 2 Peter 3:18, Colossians 1:9-10). So that when someone sees you, they can say “I have seen Jesus”.
Prayer Point:
Let’s thank God for making us like Him through His son Jesus. Let’s pray that we meditate on His word and pray to manifest what He has completed in our spirit.
