Title: Out of Lo-debar

Then King David sent and brought him from the house of Machir the son of Ammiel, at Lo-debar. 2nd Samuel 9:5
God can turn the fortunes of a person around in just a second. The story of Mephibosheth emphasises this point. The Hebrew meaning of Mephibosheth is, โfrom the mouth of shameโ. At one point in time, Mephibosheth was in Lo-debar. Lo-debar in Hebrew means a pastureless land, a desert for that matter. The grandson of Saul, the king, was living in a desert. I believe we all know, from documentaries, the difficulty of living on desert land.
Someone who should have been swimming in riches found himself probably struggling for his daily bread. Moreover, we should not forget that Mephibosheth was lame at both feet. What manner of work could he do to survive on such a land? But when he least expected, God put the burden of him in the heart of David. When David asked, if there was anyone left in the house of Saul that he should show kindness for Jonathanโs sake (2nd Samuel 9:1), the only remaining descendant was Mephibosheth.
In a blink of an eye, the lame man struggling to make ends meet in a desert was eating at the kingโs table. From the mouth of shame to the kingโs table, with over thirty-five servants attending to him (2nd Samuel 9:10). Beloved, what God cannot do does not exist. He holds the keys to your future in His hands. God is taking you out of Lo-debar to the kingโs table. God has put the burden of you on someone, and in no time, your blessings will manifest to the glory of the name of Jesus.
Prayer Point:
Let us thank and praise God for His word today and the answers to our prayers. Also, let us pray that God should turn our fortunes around in any unfavorable situation in which we find ourselves.
