Keep actively watching and praying that you may not come into temptation; the spirit is willing, but the body is weak.โ

For the blood of Jesus Christ to be suitable for the redemption of humanity, it had to be pure (free from sin). Christ achieved this with the help of the Holy Spirit, for scripture said “... through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God… (Hebrew 9:4 KJV)”. Therefore, the life of Jesus Christ is the perfect model of how to access grace to live righteously.
Jesus Christ had a unique ability to predict the activity of the enemy while He was on earth. You would hear Him say “I will not say much more to you, for the prince of this world is coming. He has no hold over me (John 14:30 NIV)“, guarding His actions long before the devil comes to tempt. He knew the intent of those who came to test Him with hard questions and the right answer to give them. Now, we need to know that Jesus took the form of a man. Meaning, that the victory He had over sin and the devil was achieved as a man and not as God though He was also 100% God. For only as a man could He share in our weaknesses (Hebrew 4:15)?
Now, how was Jesus Christ able to access grace to live as perfectly as He did? The answer is simple, He was a man of prayer. We can discern this in His statement to Peter after He got wind of the devil’s plan to sift him as wheat (Luke 22:31). He told him “Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation… (Matthew 26:41)”, indicating that praying is a means to overcome sin. Again, we read of how “… in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death and was heard in that he feared (Hebrew 4:7)”. The way He was delivered from death was that he was delivered from sin, for the consequences of sin is death (Romans 6:23).
When we spend time praying, The Holy Spirit stirs us away from situations that would lead us to sin. Like Jesus, we are able to predict the move of the enemy and adjust our actions so he won’t have space in us. By prayer, our will is empowered to submit to the word of God.
Prayer Point.
Let’s thank God for His word today. Let’s ask Him to keep us from falling.
