Title: Preach The Gospel Of Christ

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

(Romans 1:16 KJV)

It was a normal Saturday Afternoon, the Weather was nice, so I decided to go for a walk with some friends who had visited. I had just graduated from the University (Bachelors) the previous Wednesday. As we were walking, having our usual chats, and cracking some Jokes, we saw a certain group of Men and Women following us. They later caught up with us and requested to have a chat, which my friends denied but I felt within me to tell my friends that, โ€œLetโ€™s just listen to themโ€. These wonderful men and women of God preached powerfully about Jesus Christ to us and invited us to Church on Sunday. They followed up on me the next day (Sunday morning) and took me to Church.

This encounter was the greatest turning point in my spiritual life and anyone who knew me before, can attest to this fact. I remember that day like yesterday. I always ask myself, โ€œwhat if I had not met these people on that day, how will my life be by now?โ€ Where will I be by now? During my time in the University, my main focus was on academics and didnโ€™t want to have anything to do with God or the work of God. When I come home for Vacation, we used to eat โ€œFufuโ€ on Sundays, watch movies, play football, and donโ€™t even think about going to Church. I always remember that day and thank God for His Grace and Mercies. I also thank God always for the lives of these devoted Brethren who allowed themselves for God to use to impact my life. I believe we all have stories about how we came to Christ. Everyoneโ€™s story may be different but one common thing in these stories is that the Lord sent someone to talk to us about Jesus Christ, and that changed our lives.

Beloved in the Lord, the harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few (Matt. 9:37). You just have to open your door or look through your window and you will see that the harvest is indeed plentiful. There are many people who are now at where we used to be before we accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and personal savior. Our mothers, fathers, aunts, uncles, cousins, next-door neighbors, work colleagues, classmates etc. have been held bondage by the evil one, enslaved by sin, suffering, and donโ€™t know what to do. You know the answer to their problems because you used to be there. In the same way that other people preached the Gospel of Christ to us, the Lord expects us to also do same to those who are in bondage.

It is by the preaching of the Gospel of Christ that sinners can be saved and transformed. Praying and interceding for salvation of souls is good but letโ€™s not limit ourselves to only to prayers but use every opportunity to also preach the Gospel of Christ. There is time for prayers, and there is time to preach the Gospel. When we pray and intercede for people, God shows them Mercy and will send people into their lives to preach the Gospel to them. We have to also know that the people God will send can be you yourself because when you intercede for someone, you position yourself as a Vessel for God to use.

For one to be saved, he/she has to first confess the Lord Jesus Christ and believe in his/her heart that God has raised Him from the dead (Rom. 10:9-10). However, how can sinners believe and accept Jesus Christ into their lives if they havenโ€™t even heard about Him and what He has done for the world, especially His sacrifice on the Cross and Resurrection? Where can they get this message from? It is only through a Preacher!

Beloved in the Lord, letโ€™s be sensitive to the opportunities God brings our way and use it to preach the Gospel. Many Souls will be saved when we start preaching the Gospel of Christ.

Prayer Point:

Letโ€™s thank God for His Grace and Mercies and for giving us His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ to die for our sins. Letโ€™s ask the God of harvest to place the burden of salvation of souls in the hearts of all believers around the world. Letโ€™s also ask God to help us to be more sensitive to the opportunities and doors He opens for preaching the Gospel.

God bless you all.
