Blessed are the pure in heart, For they shall see God. Matthew 5:8 NKJV

Some time ago the Lord gave me a vision of a section of the Church. As I prayed, I saw a vision of a lady before me. She wore nothing but just a very white female underwear and her hands were wrapped over her chest: the left hand reaching to her right shoulder and her right hand reaching to her left shoulder, covering her breast. As I watched on, I saw different kinds on animals (mostly black in colour) attached to her skin with their mouths. They occupied most part of her body, tormenting her.

As I considered the vision, I understood that the animals I saw attached to her skin with their mouth and causing torments to her were demons. Again, the reason I saw she had a very white underwear was because she was a virgin. She was a virgin, but she wasn’t pure (for her uncleanliness gave way to demons to torment her). This vision made me sad, but I knew God was making me to see in the spirit what I had observed in the natural. Purity as a Christian concept goes beyond sexual purity (or abstaining from the physical act of sex), but the state of your heart. Though Apostle Paul highlighted how sexual immorality is a sin against the body and others are outside the body (1 Cor. 6:18), it doesn’t mean we should accommodate other sins like lust, pride, unbelief, fear, jealousy and envy etc. These defile as well, and if we are to see the Lord, we have to be pure in all things (Matt. 5:8).

As I considered the vision I shared above, this came to my heart: “wash her clean with the word”, reechoing Ephesians 5:26. For us to be a people ready for the Lord, we have to learn the command of the new covenant, love as He has loved us, and access all the provision of grace God has made for us to live a life free from sin in all its forms and to dominate every power of the enemy.

Prayer Point:

Let’s thank the Lord for the word today. Let us also ask Him to purify our heart from every filth of sin.
