By: Daniel Peter

He listened to Paul as he was speaking. Paul looked directly at him, saw that he had faith to be healed and called out, โ€œStand up on your feet!โ€ At that, the man jumped up and began to walk.ย Acts 14:9โ€ญ-โ€ฌ10 NIV

The Gospel proclaims a great promise, but very few Christians have been able to obtain them. The reason many haven’t obtained is because they don’t know how to receive, not because God hasn’t given. Receiving is an act of faith and it needs to be learned.

The physical realm is a parallel of the spirit realm. Just like we need to use our hands to receive what someone is giving to us, we need faith to receive that which God is giving to us in the Spirit. The expression of this faith goes beyond saying “I receive” as it is practiced in many Prophetic gatherings, but an action taken as a result of the understanding of the nature of God and the process of manifesting.

In our scriptural verse, we saw the faith the crippled man demonstrated when He heard the Gospel from Apostle Paul. For Apostle Paul to notice that He had faith to be healed, is suggestive of the fact that the message being preached was about healing. The faith the cribbled man demonstrated to receive his healing was that He obeyed the instruction to stand up that came from the mouth of Apostle Paul, despite the signs of his sickness were still there.

When we act on God’s word, we are demonstrating the faith it takes to receive. However, that’s not all. Many times, the expectation we have comes immediately after we act on the word given, some other time it takes a while. Many people lose their expectations when the word or promise or request tarries. What to do in this case is that you act as though the word has been fulfilled or your request granted even though in the natural it may be different, for it has been fulfilled (granted) truly.ย  This is so because when God speaks, it is already established in the spirit. Though you may not see it in the natural, it is there in the spirit. As you live from that position of truth, despite the contradiction in the natural, you will see the word manifest in the natural (The faith that receives is the faith that endures). Thanking God while you wait for the manifestation is proof that you have that which you seek already.

As you act the word, keep thanking God for that which you expect, and let your speech reflect your faith, then you will receive all the promises of the Gospel, specific promises to you by God, and the answer to the requests you make.

Prayer Point

Let’s thank God for His word. Let’s ask Him to help the body of Christ to demonstrate the kind of faith that will cause us to receive all that He has given to us already in Christ.
