In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.

(Ephesians 1:13-14 NKJV)

 

Many Believers often wonder, “Am I truly saved?” or “How do I know for sure that I belong to God?” But the Word of God gives us the assurance we need. The moment we heard the Gospel and truly believed in Jesus Christ, something powerful happened — we were sealed by the Holy Spirit of promise.

When a document is sealed, it means it’s secure, approved, and untouchable without the authority of the one who sealed it. That’s exactly what God did to us. He placed His Holy Spirit in us as a divine mark of ownership, identity, and security. And this seal is not temporary. The Bible says it is the guarantee — the down payment — of our eternal inheritance until the day we are fully redeemed and glorified in Christ (Eph 1:14).

It is very important to know that the Holy Spirit is not just a feeling or a force. He is a Person. He is God dwelling in us (1 Cor 6:19). He reminds us daily that we are children of God (Rom 8:9,16). He comforts us in weakness, convicts us of sin, strengthens us to walk in holiness, and empowers us for service (Acts 1:8, Acts 4:31). He is the first taste of our future in Heaven.

The devil may try to make you doubt your identity, especially when you fall or go through trials. But remember this: if you have truly believed in the Lord Jesus, you are sealed. You belong to God. And nothing can snatch you out of His hand (Jn 10:28). Your salvation is not based on your strength, but on His promise.

Beloved in the Lord, instead of walking in fear or uncertainty, let us walk in boldness, knowing that we are God’s own possession. Let us honor this seal by living lives worthy of our calling — in purity, in love, and in purpose.

Let’s thank God for His Word today. Let’s pray that every Believer around the world will grow in the knowledge of this truth and walk in full assurance of their salvation.
