Title: Signs That Follow Believers

And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues;

(Mark 16:17 NKJV)

The final words of people on earth are very important and not taken lightly at all. When most people reach a point in their life where they feel that they can’t make it, they choose they their successors and share their secrets and locations of their wealth with them so they can continue their legacy. If the final words of mere humans are to be taken seriously, how much more that of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ, the son of the living God?

After our Lord Jesus gave us the “Great Commission”, He also promised all believers that signs will follow us. It is very important to note that our Lord Jesus said the signs will rather follow us and not the other way round. This is because I know so many people who are being tossed to and from in their quest to seeking signs and are being deceived by some Fraudsters who parade themselves as men of God. Beloved in the Lord, the main qualification for signs to follow us given by our Lord Jesus Christ is to believe and accept Him as our Lord and savior and live our lives in obedience to Him. When we do so the signs will automatically follow us.

What are some of the signs that follow those who Believe in Jesus Christ? One of the signs is the power to casting out demons (Mark 16:17). The name of Jesus has been exalted above every other name. That’s why at the mention of the name “Jesus”, every knee in Heaven, on earth and under earth bows (Phil 2:9-11). This authority which has been given to our Lord Jesus is available to all who believe in Him. Therefore, we can stand on this authority to cast out demons and destroy the works of the evil one.

One day, Apostle Paul and Silas went to a place of Prayer, and they were being disturbed by a slave girl with demonic spirit of divination. One day, Apostle Paul got so exasperated and casted the spirit out of her, in the name of Jesus (Acts 16:18). I want you to know that this authority is still available to us today.

Speaking in new tongues is also one of the signs which was promised (Mark 16:17).  On the day of Pentecost when the disciples were filled with the Holy Spirit, they spoke in new tongues (Acts 2:1-4). I personally know many believers who have been baptized with the Holy Spirit and speak in other tongues. Everything happened exactly as our Lord Jesus promised before He ascended to Heaven. All these therefore point to the fact that God is true to His word and His word never fails.

Beloved in the Lord, after our Lord Jesus commanded us to make disciples of all nations, He also promised us that, signs will follow us. Some of these signs include the power to cast out demons and speaking in new tongues. These signs are still available to us today. All we need to do is to believe in Him, seek Him, obey Him, and follow Him and the signs will automatically follow us.

Prayer Point:

Let’s thank God for His Word today. Let’s ask God to help all Believers around the world to be conscious of all the signs that haven promised to follow us. Let’s also pray for miracles, signs and wonders to accompany all believers who obey and do His work.
