And the Spirit of God came upon Saul when he heard those tidings, and his anger was kindled greatly. 7 And he took a yoke of oxen, and hewed them in pieces, and sent them throughout all the coasts of Israel by the hands of messengers, saying, Whosoever cometh not forth after Saul and after Samuel, so shall it be done unto his oxen. And the fear of the Lord fell on the people, and they came out with one consent. (1 Samuel 11:6-7 KJV)

The difference between exploits and status quo is the empowerment of the Spirit. When God wants to make a statement, he pours his Spirit upon a man to achieve that which he had purposed to do. The manifestation could be in many forms. For Samson, it was in unimaginable strength for battle.

In our text today, Saul who before being anointed was an introvert, now possesses the ability for anger and unquenchable zeal for the protection of Israel, so much so that he cut a whole oxen into pieces by himself. Furthermore, the Spirit that came upon him began to educate him about military strategies on how to gather an Army in the shortest time possible and ultimately bring victory to Israel.

As we gradually come to the end of the year, what we should yearn for should be empowerment of the Spirit of God. It is an endless stream of divine possibilities with different tributaries that could manifest as wisdom, power, favour, wealth, anointing and so on. By plugging into this empowerment, we can access all other things. The reason is because the Holy Spirit takes over the workings of that dimension that seems to be manifesting outwardly in the life of the man.

That is what makes the difference in our daily walk with God and with men in this our sojourn upon the face of the earth so that on that last day, we will not regret seeing what God had planned for us but that we failed to enter into due to lack of spiritual empowerment.

Prayer point:

Let’s thank God for His word today.ย  Letโ€™s pray for a fresh empowerment of the Holy Spirit upon our lives.

God bless you.
