Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.ย  ย  (1 Corinthians 10:12 KJV)

The state of rejection in the life of any man is a time when men wish they had done things differently, just maybe the end result would not have been the same. Rejection most times comes with sadness and deep sorrow of the heart. It starts the journey from the soul where you question everything and then gradually spreads to the spirit and the body (Pro. 17:22). In our world today, we are mostly conscious of rejection from fellow humans be it in career pursuit, relationships, society or any other sphere of life. However, the most grievous is to be rejected by God.

The life of Cain who was the first murderer recorded in scriptures mirrors the stages a man going through rejection from God goes through (Gen. 4:9-14). First, he defends himself and finds excuse to look normal, then he comes to the realisation that he has lost his essence of living and that he is doomed. Finally, he is covered in guilt and fear.
The same script plays out in the life of King Saul when he willingly disobeyed God and also when he prioritized the people more than God(1 Sam. 15:22-23). Lastly, we see Judas, eventhough, he did not have a pronouncement of rejection like the first two, he was convinced beyond a doubt that heaven had rejected him. Hence, why he committed suicide(Matt. 27:5).

The devil tries as much as possible to maximise this season in the lives of many believers by increasing their sorrow and telling them there is nothing else to live for but this of course is a capital lie. In some cases, he advises his victims to seek revenge by any means possible, even if it means bringing others to hurt. That is why we must be vigilant so we donโ€™t become a prey to the devil.

REMEDIES TO REJECTION
If it is from men;

1. Know that God has greater plans for you and the rejection is to push you forward and not be stuck in a place of anxiety and sorrow. 2. Encourage yourself in the Lord knowing that He is never late.
3. Build intimacy with your maker and constantly seek for His divine direction.
4. Go for counselling if need be.

If it is from God;
1. Ask for mercy and sincerely repent from that which the Lord was displeased about. It was Moses who interceded for Aaron when wanted to kill him for bringing idol worship into the camp(Deut. 9: 20-21) when the people pressed him for it.
2. Desire more than ever to be with Him and to please Him more than any other thing even if He decides not to use you for anything again.

Prayer point:
Letโ€™s thank God for the word today. Let us pray for as many as are going through rejection that the Lord will heal their hearts and bring them light at the end of the tunnel.
