Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary and brother of James and Joses and Judas and Simon? And are not his sisters here with us?โ€ And they took offence at him. Mark 6:3

The Ancient Greek noun tektลn is the term used for an artisan/craftsman, in particular a carpenter, woodworker, or builder. That was the term the people of Nazareth used to describe Jesus Christ in our verse for today. They had seen him make beautiful designs out of nothing/inanimate object (common wood). Jesus Christ was and is still a craftsman. Someone would ask, but Jesus is no more on earth, so how can you say He is still a craftsman?

Jesus indeed is no more on earth, however, He is still working through the Holy Spirit to make something marvellous out of ordinary men. I believe, it was no coincidence that Jesusโ€™ human father, Joseph, was a carpenter, and Jesus became one as well. The same way He made beautiful designs out of common wood and materials, so can He make your messy life a beautiful design to behold. However, this can only be possible if you surrender to Him and accept Him as your Lord and Saviour. Beloved, Jesus can still mould your life and make something meaningful out of your life.

Recently, I was listening to Joseph Prince, the leader of New Creation Church, and he testified of how he used to stammer when he first got born again, but now, he is one of the powerful preachers of the gospel of the grace of God in the world. Jesus moulded and crafted someone wonderful out of him, even when he saw himself as inadequate.

If you are struggling to find meaning to your life? If you feel worthless and rejected? Come to Jesus now! He can make something useful out of your life. It does not matter your sins or how far you have gone. Jesus has made so many beautiful designs and you can be His next masterpiece. Today, I want you to know that Jesus is still the chief craftsman, and He can make something meaningful out of your life. Jesus still loves you and cares for you!

Prayer Point:

Let us thank and praise God for His word today and the answers to our prayers. Let us thank God for making meaning out of our meaningless lives.

Also, if you want to accept Jesus pray this prayer: Dear Lord Jesus, I have come to you as the sinner that I am. I repent of all my sins and fully surrender to you. I accept you as my Lord and Saviour. Make meaning out of my life, in Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.
