For thou wilt light my candle: the Lord my God will enlighten my darkness.( Psalm 18:28 KJV)

There are different seasons in the life of men and women and each phase must follow its cycle to the end. However, some cycles are longer than others. Just as some nights are much longer during the winter season as opposed to longer days in summer.

This cycle of darkness is much longer for some than others and this could be dependent on so many factors. It could be territorial (Gen.18:23), generational, as a result of bondages, going through training and many more. Lot was a righteous man but surrounded with thick darkness that was hovering over Sodom and Gomorrah and he almost became a victim because of his abode if not for Abraham’s timely intervention and God’s mercy.

The Lord comes to light the candle of His beloved to break them out of seasons of darkness and to bring them into limelight from places of obscurity. At other times, He lights the candle on a life at the end of a training or trial season to launch them into manifestation. The training may have been tough but the light that God brings has the capacity to swallow up every pain. David went through this season and came out shining. Joseph did the same and you won’t be an exception.

If you are going through your dark season at the moment, there is a provision available to light your part and dispel the darkness around your life. Is it in your health, your career, your business, your family, your ministry or any other areas of your life? All you need is to call on the one that lights the candle of men and He will break you out of that unpleasant season and usher you into light.

Let us thank God for His word today. Let’s pray that God will light our candles and make our lights shine for the world to see.
