But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

(Matthew 6:33 NKJV)

Our Lord Jesus Christ told a parable about a younger son who asked his father for his inheritance and then left home. He wasted all his money on reckless living, fell into hardship, and eventually decided to return home. While he was still a long way off, his father saw him, ran to him, embraced him, and welcomed him back with great joy. The father restored him as a son and threw a celebration (Luk 15:11–32).

When you reflect on this parable, you’ll notice that the father didn’t even ask about the inheritance the son had squandered. What mattered most to him was that his lost son had returned. This story illustrates the depth of God’s love for us. From the beginning, God’s greatest desire has been to have a close relationship with us. That’s why, when sin became an obstacle, He gave Himself as a sacrifice to remove that barrier (Rom 5:8, Jn 3:16).

The Lord longs to hear your voice at all times. Prayer is how we communicate with Him—not merely to receive things but to engage in deep fellowship with our loving Father. Sadly, many believers only pray when they encounter problems or difficulties.

This mindset is sometimes influenced by cultural traditions. In many African traditional religions, one seeks the help of a priest only in times of need—for children, protection, wealth, or success. Unfortunately, we often carry this same approach into our Christian lives, viewing God only as a problem-solver.

The truth is, the closer you walk with the Lord, the more you know Him. The more you know Him, the stronger your faith becomes to withstand the schemes of the enemy and the storms of life. Such believers remain calm even in trials because they have built their lives on a solid foundation (Matt 7:24–27).

Moreover, when you walk closely with the Lord, many of your needs will be met even before you ask. If we truly seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, He will faithfully supply all our needs (Matt 6:33).

Beloved in the Lord, God truly loves us, and His greatest desire has always been to have a deep and personal relationship with us. Let us, therefore, spend regular time in His presence through prayer and fellowship. As we grow closer to the Lord, our faith will be strengthened to overcome life’s challenges. Let us seek first His Kingdom and His righteousness, and He will take care of everything else.

Prayer Point:

Let’s thank God for His word today. Let’s ask the Lord to help all believers to love to spend regular time in the presence of God in prayer and fellowship.

God bless you all.
