Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: the sceptre of thy kingdom is a right sceptre. [7] Thou lovest righteousness, and hatest wickedness: therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.ย  (Psalm 45:6-7 KJV)

When Job was trying to spell out the things that powered his wealth and affluence among the men of the east in Job 29,ย  he listed a plethora of things. Most of them were things done to others but one of them stood out which he did to himself. In the 14th verse he said; โ€œI put on righteousness, and it clothed me: my judgment was as a robe and a diademโ€. His glorious stature as Godโ€™s treasurer upon the face of the earth was powered by an anointing that came from Holy living and righteousness.

The nature of God is holy and in 1 Tim. 6:6, we see that godliness with contentment is great gain. Gain is a proceed that accrues and comes back to you over and above the investment you put into the transaction. So, when we transact holiness and righteousness, the gain will come as either intimacy with God, favour, empowerment, mercy, abundance, spiritual covering, spiritual gifts and many more outlets. Whether we pay attention or not, righteous living is a currency and it is bringing gains to our lives.

Joseph was a slave in the house of his master Potiphar but he was a man that wore righteousness just like Job and he will prioritise Holy living above all else(Gen. 39:9). Therefore, favour began to trail him everywhere he goes. Even when thrown in prison and was supposed to be incarcerated, he became the comptroller general of the Royal prison in Egypt through favour and mercy because the hand of God will not leave him as long as he is committed to righteousness(Gen 39:21). One other thing that we noticed was that prior to this time, Joseph was only a dreamer but as this journey of righteousness continued, his spiritual ranking and stature had increased and he can now interprete dreams (Gen. 40:12). This great kingdom gift will later become his ladder to the throne.

Commitment to holy living and righteousness is the pathway to destiny fulfillment because it qualifies you for an anointing and the great gains that comes with it are beyond the reach of common men. Therefore, refuse to sell out and stay committed to this kingdom mystery and in due time like Joseph, your profiting will appear unto all.

Prayer point:
Letโ€™s thank God for His word. Let us pray for the grace to stay holy and live righteous all the days of our lives.
