“May have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.”
(Ephesians 3:18–19, NIV)
The possibilities of a Christian are endless, because God’s design for us is to reflect Him fully. This intention was first revealed when He said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness” (Genesis 1:26). Yet, we have a responsibility in this process.
Though God’s will was for Adam to be in His likeness, at the time he was in the Garden of Eden, he had not yet attained the fullness of God’s likeness. Certain attributes of God were placed in the trees of the garden. For instance, Adam only became like God in wisdom after he partook of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil (Genesis 3:1–7), showing that before then, he was not like God in that aspect.
In the same way, though it is God’s will for us to reflect Him in every aspect, we must grow and expand spiritually to host His fullness. According to Apostle Paul, the measure to which we are filled with God depends on our comprehension of the dimensions of His love (Ephesians 3:18–19). When we behold the length, width, height, and depth of His love—revealed on the cross of Calvary—our capacity to love is stretched, enabling us to host His fullness.
Being filled with His fullness leads to us manifesting Him fully. As we meditate on the price Jesus paid for our sins and the sacrifice He endured for us, we gain deeper understanding of His love. This enlarges our hearts and empowers us to reflect Him.
God’s very nature is love. To reflect Him fully is to love as He loves.

- Let’s ask Him to grant us the grace to grasp the width, length, height, and depth of Christ’s love.
- Let’s pray to be filled with all the fullness of God, manifesting His love and character daily.
