The Good Shepherd

“I am the good shepherd; I know my own sheep, and they know me, just as my Father knows me and I know the Father. So I sacrifice my life for the sheep.“ (John 10:14-15 NLT)

Jesus is our Good Shepherd. He knows us by name, just as we know Jesus as our Saviour and our gentle Shepherd. He compares our relationship  with Him to His Own intimate and cherished relationship with the Father.  

Jesus said: JUST AS MY FATHER KNOWS ME AND I KNOW THE FATHER. 

How wonderful it is to know that Christ KNOWS me and you, just as the Father KNOWS Christ.

What an all knowing God! A good Shepherd He is! A wonderful Savior who willingly, due to the love He has for us, laid down His life for you and I. He laid down His life to satisfy the wrath of God for the sins of the whole world, so that all that believes in Him will be saved. The good Shepherd laid down His life because of the love He has for us, His sheep, His church, His body and His Bride! 

The death of Jesus on the cross paid the price for the sin for ALL, but His resurrection broke the power of sin and death for all those who would believe. 

Jesus is a good Shepherd who will never leave any of sheep to get missing ( Luke 15:4-6). 

Praise be to God that our good Shepherd knows us and loves us. Praise be to God that His eternal Son became the perfect Man to lay down His life for the sheep, and to take it up again so that we too might receive newness of life in Him forever.
