Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.

(1 Corinthians 15:58 NKJV)

ย

There is this famous story of a woman who worked in a particular Church as a Cleaner. This woman really loved her work, and she was faithful and diligent in her work. One night, the Lord revealed to the Pastor that among all the members, this woman who is just a mere Cleaner has the biggest mansion in Heaven. There were Pastors, Praise and Worship leaders, Prayer Leaders, Youth Pastors, Ushers, Instrumentalists etc. in the Church but the work of this Cleaner pleased the Lord the most. This was because of this womanโ€™s attitude, commitment, and faithfulness towards her Job.

Beloved in the Lord, God sees and knows everything we do, even the things we hide in our hearts; nothing can be hidden from His eyes. We can easily pretend in front of men and deceive them, but we canโ€™t hide anything from God. The Lord even knows the end of everything from the beginning (Is. 46:10). Therefore, every Work the Lord has given to us, letโ€™s do them faithfully, willingly and without murmur. Our attitude towards the work of God should not depend on whether our Leader is around or not. Letโ€™s not go about our Work with the intention of trying to please our Pastor or Leader but to please God. If we do our Work faithfully, the Lord who sees everything we do in secret will reward us openly (Matt. 6:4).

It is also important to note that there is no menial work in the Kingdom of God; all the Works in the Kingdom are equally important. So, if you are a Pastor, donโ€™t ever think your work is more important than the Cleaner, Usher, Worship leader etc. and vice versa. The common mistake most believers make is that we compare our work with that of others. We have to know that although we are all running a common race, we are not competing among ourselves. All of us can be winners at the end of this race and receive Crowns. The Lord will reward us based on how we accomplished our individual Assignments and not based on the success or failure of other Believers. So, letโ€™s focus on our individual assignments and run the race that is before us with perseverance, fixing our eyes on Jesus the Author and Finisher of our Faith (Heb. 12:1-2).

Beloved in the Lord, God has given each one of us a Work to accomplish on this earth. None of these Works are more important than the other. Letโ€™s therefore focus on ours and have a good attitude towards our work, knowing that the Lord will surely reward us.

Prayer Point:

Letโ€™s thank God for His Word today. Letโ€™s ask God to help all Believers around the world to be diligent and faithful in the Work of God irrespective of persecutions or trials, knowing that the Lord will surely reward us.

God bless you all.
