Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.
(1 Corinthians 15:58 NKJV)
ย
Thereโs a well-known story about a woman who worked as a cleaner in a church. She loved her job and performed it with great faithfulness and diligence. One night, the Lord revealed to the Pastor thatโamong all the church membersโit was this woman, a humble cleaner, who had the biggest mansion in Heaven. There were Pastors, Worship Leaders, Prayer Coordinators, Youth Ministers, Ushers, and Musicians in the church. Yet, it was her work that pleased the Lord the most. Why? Because of her unwavering commitment, attitude, and faithfulness in her seemingly small role.
Beloved in the Lord, God sees and knows everythingโeven the hidden intentions of our hearts. Nothing escapes His sight. While we can deceive people with appearances, we cannot deceive God. He knows the end from the beginning (Isa 46:10). Thatโs why whatever task God has given us, we must do it wholeheartedly, faithfully, and without complaint.
Our attitude in service shouldnโt depend on whether someone is watching. We donโt work to please our Pastors or Leadersโwe serve to honor God. When we serve with the right heart, the Lord, who sees what is done secretly, will reward us openly (Matt 6:4).
Itโs also important to remember that there is no insignificant work in the Kingdom of God. Every task, no matter how small it may seem, holds eternal value. Pastors, Cleaners, Ushers, Worship Leadersโevery role is vital. Sadly, many believers fall into the trap of comparison. But God isnโt calling us to compete with one another.
We’re not racing against each other; we’re running our own race. Each of us has a unique assignment. And in the end, God will judge us not by how we measured up to others, but by how faithfully we fulfilled our own calling. As Hebrews 12:1โ2 reminds us, letโs run our race with perseverance, fixing our eyes on Jesusโthe Author and Finisher of our faith.
Beloved in the Lord, God has given every one of us work to do. No assignment is greater than another. So, letโs focus on our calling, serve with joy and excellence, and remember that our reward comes from the Lord.
Prayer Point:
Letโs thank God for His Word today. Letโs ask God to help all Believers around the world to be diligent and faithful in the Work of God, irrespective of persecutions or trials, knowing that the Lord will surely reward us.
God bless you all.
