The love of God is at the centre of our faith. We believe that God is love and that He loves us far more than we can ever imagine. God knows you personally, and He cares for you deeply (1 Peter 5:7, Matthew 6:25-34, Luke 12:22-32).

The bible tells us that God loved us so much that He gave us His only son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. The best way to demonstrate love is by action. If all you hear is “I love you” and no action follows up, I bet you will soon realise you’re just being deceived. 

God gave… He proved His love by action. He watched how Jesus suffered on the cross for the sins of mankind. Jesus’s suffering was God’s suffering, both in that Jesus is God and also in the suffering of allowing a loved one to suffer. Jesus said, “Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.”(John 15:13). 

The bible says God created us in his own image. What a privilege! But then, do you know we can never be in his complete image if we don’t obtain everlasting life? So God had to complete His creation process by dying on the cross for us to believe in Him and obtain everlasting life. The process of creating us, therefore, was so intense that it had to involve His own Son dying before resurrecting. Hallelujah!

The Psalmist writes, “What is man that You are mindful of him,” (Psalm 8:4). God is so compassionate that even if a serial killer would repent and call on that name …, Jesus, He will be forgiven by God. He is so gracious that He makes his rain to fall even in the farm lands of the wicked. His sun shines even on the idol worshippers. He does not take pleasure in the death of the wicked but desires that they repent and turn to Him lest they die and perish in hell for eternity. (Ezekiel 33:11, Matthew 10:28)

God is love. His love for us is greater than we can ever imagine. He knows your every desire, your every wish, and He cares for you truly. So trust the Lord’s goodness and faithfulness and follow His commandment: Love one another as I have loved you. 

Prayer Point

Let’s thank God for His immeasurable love and kindness toward us. 

Let’s pray that God helps us contemplate His love for us daily.
