Title: The Power Of God Unto Salvation
For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.ย (Romans 1:16 KJV)
A famous man of God I know shared a story on how he got saved. He was a very bad boy when he was young. He was one of those people that your mother or father would advise you to stay away from. He used to smoke marijuana, commit fornication and other sinful acts which are even shameful to talk about. One day, he met a lady that he liked. When he proposed to this lady who was a Believer, she told him to first follow her to a Crusade before she would accept his proposal. When he went to the crusade, he heard the Gospel and gave his life to Christ. The Lord called him into the ministry, and he has been used to save many souls, perform many miracles, and impact many nations.
We all have our stories on how we got saved. Everyoneโs own may be different but one common thing in these stories is that the Lord sent someone to talk to us about Jesus Christ, and that changed our lives. I always remember the day I got saved and thank God for His Grace and Mercies. I also thank God always for the lives of these devoted Brethren who allowed themselves for God to use to impact my life.
Beloved in the Lord, the harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few (Matt. 9:37). You just have to open your door or look through your window and you will see that the harvest is indeed plentiful. There are many people who are now at where we used to be before we accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and personal savior.
Our mothers, fathers, aunts, uncles, cousins, next-door neighbors, work colleagues, classmates etc. have been held bondage by the evil one, enslaved by sin, suffering, and donโt know what to do (Jn 8:34). You know the answer to their problems because you used to be there. In the same way that other people preached the Gospel of Christ to us, the Lord expects us to also do same to those who are in bondage (Matt 28:18-20).
It is by the preaching of the Gospel of Christ that sinners can be saved and transformed (Rom 1:16). Praying and interceding for salvation of souls is good but letโs not limit ourselves only to prayers but use every opportunity to also preach the Gospel of Christ. There is time for prayers, and there is time to preach the Gospel. When we pray and intercede for people, God shows them Mercy and will send people into their lives to preach the Gospel to them. We have to also know that the people God will send can be you yourself because when you intercede for someone, you position yourself as a Vessel for God to use.
For one to be saved, he/she has to first confess the Lord Jesus Christ and believe in his/her heart that God has raised Him from the dead (Rom. 10:9-10). However, how can sinners believe and accept Jesus Christ into their lives if they havenโt even heard about Him and what He has done for the world, especially His sacrifice on the Cross and Resurrection? Where can they get this message from? It is only through a Preacher (Rom 10:14)!
Beloved in the Lord, we all have our stories on how we got saved but one common thing in these stories is that the Lord sent someone to talk to us about Jesus Christ, and that changed our lives. Therefore, letโs also be sensitive to the opportunities God brings our way and use it to preach the Gospel. Many Souls will be saved when we start preaching the Gospel of Christ. The Gospel is the power of God unto Salvation!
Prayer Point:
Letโs thank God for His Grace and Mercies and for giving us His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ to die for our sins. Letโs ask the God of harvest to place the burden of salvation of souls in the hearts of all believers around the world.
God bless you all.
