CALL TO PRAYER
Title: The Preserver
Date: 19.08.2021
By: Wale Lasisi
This is what the Lord says: As when juice is found in a cluster of grapes and people say, โDonโt destroy it, there is still a blessing in it,โ so will I do on behalf of my servants; I will not destroy them all. (Isa 65:8 NIV)
The story of Apostle Paul in Acts 27 and 28 paints a clear picture of what the eternal protection of Christ is in the life of His children. He was held as prisoner due to appear before Ceasar and in spite of all the life threatening situations, the Lord preserved his life and the life of everyone on the ship with him. Even when they got to an island and a venomous viper from the wood in the fire bit him on the arm, it had no effect on him because God was with him.
David was constantly in arms way due to the battles that he fought, when his life was sought by King Saul and even when his own son, Absalom rebelled against him. He still declared in Psalm 23:4 that he will fear no evil because the Lord is with him. This declaration came as a result of the assurances he received in the Spirit about the sure protection from the good Shepherd.
Godโs eternal protection is sure for His children but we must be sensitive to the leadings of the Spirit. The loss experienced by the centurion and the soldiers on the ship carrying Apostle Paul could have been avoided if they had listened to him when he shared what the Lord revealed to him concerning their journey. No matter what experience you are going through, God still speaks. Even in the wilderness, he kept speaking to Moses.
Proverbs 14:22 says โThere is a way that seemeth right unto a man but the end thereof are the ways of deathโ. Therefore divine direction is a requirement to enjoying this life of perpetual protection from destruction and death. Finally, prayers are there to move the hand of God for our sakes (James 5:15). When it seems all hope is lost and it seems that the enemy his winning, God still comes through when we pray and delivers us from destruction and death like he did for Peter in the prison (Acts 12:5-7).
Therefore brethren, let us be strong in the sufficiency of the protection of the Almighty because he will never leave us nor forsake us.
Prayer point:
Letโs thank Him for the word today. Letโs pray that the Lord will stretch forth His mighty arm and deliver every believer appointed for destruction and death in Jesus name.
God bless you all!
