Title: There is an Inheritance

One day Jesus called together his twelve disciples and gave them power and authority to cast out all demons and to heal all diseases. Then he sent them out to tell everyone about the Kingdom of God and to heal the sick.

(Luke 9:1-2 NLT)

We all know the excitement every child has whenever he/she is told about a fairy who would come and give them a treasure whenever he/she hides his/her exposed tooth underneath their pillow. However, the truth is that the treasure these children are so excited about has always been theirs. Most parents take the same candy or coin their children already had (maybe their weekly pocket money or gift from family members) and hid it underneath their pillow. The funny thing is that these children are excited about treasures that actually belongs to them; Treasures which they already had but didnโ€™t know.

God has given us the power and authority to do greatness, but some of us donโ€™t know. Our Lord Jesus gifted us His Holy Spirit who gives us the power to defeat evil powers, to heal the sick, and to win many souls for His Kingdom. All these Spiritual gifts and power have been entrusted to you to do greater works as children of the most high King. We need to believe what the scripture says about Godโ€™s willingness to provide all that we need (Mathew 6:26-34). The funny part about this is that the devil knows that these powers are available to us. That is why he does everything in his power to let you doubt yourself.

The children of God need to believe that we have the right to divine health, we already have the victory, we have already been forgiven, and the enemy is already underneath our feet. We have to start believing in the one that lives in us and access the inheritance which are already ours.

Some of us focus on the victory of others and begin to forget that we also have great blessings. Instead of working on ourselves to be able to use our inheritance to do greater works, we begin to degrade our abilities while desiring those achievements which arenโ€™t meant for us. God has placed in us special tasks which leads us to greatness. The Lord also gives us some special gifts which help us to successfully fulfill our tasks.

In Luke 9:1-2 Jesus gave His disciples power and authority to cast out all demons and heal all diseases. Do you think Jesus would have sent them out empty? If Jesus had done that, the disciples would have returned with bad news, and not only would they have felt sad, but they would also be embarrassed. The Bible tells us in Luke 9:10 that Jesusโ€™ disciples came back and told Him all that they have done. They did something with what was given unto them. However, some of us arenโ€™t willing to use what has been given unto us for Godโ€™s Kingdom to grow. Some use their gifts for their selfish desires, and others are not even aware of their inheritance. Our Lord Jesus knew the power, which was bestowed upon His disciples and thatโ€™s why He first asked them to give the over 5000 people food to eat (Luke 9:13).

Beloved in the Lord, the Lord has given us the power and authority to do greater works and to spread the Good News all over the world so that the Kingdom of God will be filled with many souls. Letโ€™s therefore access our inheritance and use them to help establish the Kingdom of God on this earth as it is in Heaven.

Prayer Point:

Letโ€™s thank God for His Word today. Letโ€™s ask God to help all believers around the world to be aware of their inheritance in Christ. Letโ€™s also ask God to help us to use our gifts to help promote the Kingdom.
