Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; do not fret when people succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes.”   (Psalm 37:7 NIV)

Waiting on God is one of the privileges and disciplines of the believer. It often involves trusting Him for provision, the fulfillment of His promises, prophecies, and ultimately, His return (Isaiah 40:31; Titus 2:13).

While we wait, we may face discouragement, weariness, and seasons of uncertainty. These are common experiences, even among the faithful. Yet the Bible reminds us that “those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles” (Isaiah 40:31, NKJV).

Waiting can also bring uncomfortable experiences, mockery, embarrassment, and even shame. But Scripture assures us that those who trust in God will never be put to shame: “No one who hopes in you will ever be put to shame” (Psalm 25:3, NIV).

Endurance is key. “But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently” (Romans 8:25, NIV). And for those who persevere, the reward is certain. We are not just survivors—we are “more than conquerors through Him who loved us” (Romans 8:37, NKJV). So take heart. Your waiting is not in vain. God is faithful, and He honors those who trust in Him.

As you wait on God for a blessing or miracle, guard your heart and mind, for ‘Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light’ (2 Corinthians 11:14). Be cautious of desires and thoughts that don’t align with God’s Word. Instead, ‘wait patiently for the Lord, be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord’ (Psalm 27:14). Trust in His timing and provision, knowing that ‘all things work together for good to those who love God’ (Romans 8:28).
