Title: We Are One In Christ

Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! It is like the precious oil upon the head, running down on the beard, the beard of Aaron, running down on the edge of his garments. (Psalm 133:1-2 NKJV)

ย

There is a story in the Bible about a group of people who wanted to make a name for themselves and become very famous. They therefore decided to build a city with a tower whose top reaches into the sky. Although their motive was wrong, the Lord acknowledged that because they were united and spoke the same language, nothing would be able to stop them from accomplishing their goal. The Lord had to confuse and disunite them with different languages in order to stop them from achieving their goal (Gen 11).

In general, unity is very important in every institution or organization, and in these end times, I would say it is extremely necessary in the body of Christ. This is because Power and Anointing flows easily when there is unity (Ps 133). This Power gives us the ability to be witnesses of Christ by living a life of love (Acts 1:8). It also gives us the ability to destroy the works of the evil one.

The evil one knows this. Thatโ€™s why he will try any possible means to bring strife and divisions in the Church. This is because a kingdom that is divided among itself cannot stand and will fall (Matt 12:25). The enemy will therefore try to create fights between Pastors, Church leaders, Churches, families, etc. We are however not ignorant of his strategies and devices (2 Cor 2:11).

Therefore, letโ€™s know that we are all one in Christ (Gal 3:28). It is important to know that unity doesnโ€™t mean that we will agree on everything. For example, siblings may argue and even fight but that doesnโ€™t stop them from being related by blood. In the same way, we may have different interpretations on some part of the Scriptures which has resulted to different Denominations but that doesnโ€™t stop us from being brothers and sisters in Christ. So far as we all believe in Jesus Christ as our Lord and savior, we are all one in Him.

Letโ€™s see one another as one. Letโ€™s unite and work together! Letโ€™s unite and fight our common enemy, the devil, and destroy all his works. Also, when a fellow brother or sister in Christ makes a mistake, letโ€™s correct in love. Letโ€™s also do so in secret or among only Believers unless the Lord directs us to do it otherwise, for example if the person is preaching another Gospel (Matt 18.15-17, Gal 1:8).

Different parts of the body perform different functions, but they are equally important (1 Cor 12:12-31). Donโ€™t think that you are more important, or your office or ministry is more important than the other. Apostle donโ€™t think you are better than a Prophet and vice versa. Pastor donโ€™t think your work is better than that of the ushers, cleaners, and instrumentalists. Letโ€™s not compete among ourselves but letโ€™s rather work together towards the building and expansion of the Kingdom of God on earth.

Beloved in the Lord, it very important to know that we are all one in Christ. Unity ensures free flow of Power and Anointing in the body of Christ. Letโ€™s therefore unite and work together and destroy the works of the evil one. The evil one may try to deceive us, but we are not ignorant of his devices. We are ONE in Christ!

Prayer Point:

Letโ€™s thank God for His word today. Letโ€™s ask the Lord to help all Believers around the world to know that we are all one in Christ irrespective of our various Denominations.

God bless you all
