Title: Who is Your Helper?
I will lift up my eyes to the hillsโFrom whence comes my help? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.
ย (Psalm 121 NKJV)
There is a funny story of a man who went to a Witchdoctor for a protection ring. The purpose of this ring was to prompt him of any upcoming danger so he could escape. One day, he boarded a flight, and on his way, the ring notified him that the Plane is about to crash. The man then became helpless. Should he jump out of the Plane which will result in his death or remain in the Plane? His protection ring failed him.
Who do you call upon in times of need? In whom or what have you placed your trust? Is your trust in your rich parents and their wealth? Have you placed your trust in your money, cars, houses, and possessions? ย I believe these are questions that everyone on this earth should spend time reflecting upon. There are so many different people and things on this earth in whom we can place our trust. However, the end result is mostly disappointment, betrayal, hurt, and destruction.
David, who experienced many trials and also enjoyed riches and wealth realized that he cannot put his trust in men or in his riches. He wrote in the above Scripture that he will place his trust in the Lord because itโs only Him who can help him. We must put our hope and trust in the Lord and depend on Him for help in times of need.
The Lord created the earth and everything in it (Ps 124). He is an everlasting God and there is nothing He cannot do: With Him, all things are possible (Matt 19:26). Knowing who the Lord is and what He is capable of, letโs trust Him with our whole hearts and call upon Him in times of need. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy us but the Lord protects and covers us with His feathers (Ps 91:5-8). He is also the one who can bring divine helpers to transform your Business and Ministry.
It is very sad that most people place their trust in the Creation rather than in the Creator Himself. You canโt put your trust in a man. Today he is there, tomorrow he is gone (James 4:14). Thatโs why the word of God says that curse is anyone who puts his trust in man (Jere 17:5). Men are not faithful, and their attitudes usually change with time. It is important to know that your wife, husband, friends, or parents cannot help you but only God.
Beloved in the Lord, most people have placed their trust in men, their abilities, skills, intelligence, money, and their possessions. However, all of these can fail you anytime. We must therefore place our trust in the faithful and dependable God and call upon Him in times of need because itโs only Him who can help us. Some trust in chariots, and some in horses but we will remember the name of the Lord our God (Ps 20:7).
Prayer Point:
Letโs thank God for His Word today. Letโs ask the Lord to help all Believers to be conscious that He is our helper. Letโs ask the Lord to also give us the Grace to trust Him at all times.
God bless you all
