Title: Whose Report Do You Believe?
Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.โ (Deuteronomy 31:6 NKJV)
The world is going through a very serious financial crisis. The economic activities in many countries have slowed down due to the rise in inflation which is higher than seen in several decades. The price of fuel, electricity and food has increased tremendously, making life difficult for so many people. Many Big Tech Companies with huge revenue couldnโt even deal with this crisis and had to lay so many people off their Payroll.
You wonder how these people who have lost their Jobs in this current situation will survive. The people in developing countries are really experiencing economic hardships the most. Many now have to think about what they will eat the next day, how they can take care of their children, and how to pay their utility bills at the end of the month.
Here in Europe, the countries that ended their dependence on Russian Gas after their invasion of Ukraine are experiencing a rise in energy prices, and many are wondering how they will be able to heat their homes in Winter. Economists have attributed the ongoing crisis to the COVID-19 Pandemic and the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine. They have even predicted that it could get worse in the coming year.
Considering all these current economic situations, the normal human reaction is to fear and panic. However, I have only given you the human report on the situation, but have you asked yourself what the Lordโs report on the situation is? As Christians, we donโt live by sight or fear, but we live by Faith in the Lord and His Word (Rom 1:17). The Lord has promised to always be with us, including difficult situations; He will never leave us nor forsake us (Deut 31:6). Know that He is Jehovah-Jireh; He will definitely provide even when all hope is lost (Gen 22:14). Our heavenly father is mighty and powerful and there is nothing He cannot do (Luke 1:37). He will surely cause all things to work together for your good (Rom 8:28).
Knowing this, turn your worries into Prayers and Thanksgiving, and trust God to provide (Phil 4:6-7). He is the same God who safely took you through the COVID-19 period when many thought that everyone was going to die. Remember where you were and how far He has brought you. He is the same God! Build your Faith on the Lord, His word, and your past Testimonies. Donโt let fear and anxiety control your life!
Beloved in the Lord, the world is currently experiencing a financial crisis and economists are even predicting that it’s about to get worse. However, the Lord has promised to provide for us and so we shouldnโt worry. Whose report do you then believe? That of the Lord or that of the worldโs economists? I have chosen that of the Lord. What about you?
Prayer Point:
Letโs thank God for His Word today. Letโs ask the Lord to help all Believers to be conscious that He is our Provider, and He will always be with us. Letโs cast out any spirit of fear and anxiety from the lives of all Believers.
God bless you all
