Title: Why Do I Need Jesus?

for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus

 (Romans 3:23-24 NKJV)

There is a man of God I know who had an Encounter. In this Encounter, he was taken to Heaven and was shown a Video of a certain man on earth. In the Video, he saw that the man was very wicked and committing many evil acts. After watching the Video, the Lord asked him what he thinks of the man in the Video. He replied that the man is evil and deserved to be punished. The Lord then told him that the man in the Video was actually the man of God himself, but he had been spared because of His Faith in Jesus Christ.

Beloved in the Lord, by the Grace of God, I have had the opportunity to talk to many people and encouraged them to repent and give their life to Christ. Do you know the kind of people who are very difficult to witness Christ to? From my experience, the people who were into the acts which majority of people regard as sinful, like fornication, adultery, prostitution, drunkenness, etc. were easier to witness to. This is because it is easier for such people to accept that they are sinners and therefore need a savior.

However, the most difficult people to witness Christ to are those who don’t commit the aforementioned acts yet don’t have any relationship with Jesus Christ. Most of such people that I met thought that they are good people because they don’t offend anyone, they love people and help the poor. Since they see themselves as good people, why do they need a savior? That’s why it is very difficult for such people to accept Christ as their Lord and personal savior. However, with God all things are possible. I used to be like that but by the Grace of I’m saved.

We have to know that our own righteousness without Christ is like filthy rag before the Lord (Is 64:6). We can only attain righteousness through Christ. The Lord is so pure and Holy, and His standard of Righteousness is set so high that it is impossible to attain it with our own strength. It is also impossible for the Lord to lower His standards because He can’t change His nature. That’s where Jesus Christ comes in. For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him (2 Cor 5:21).

Beloved in the Lord, in Christ our sins are forgiven. We are also able to meet the righteous standards of God and can therefore have fellowship with Him everywhere and anytime. This can’t be attained by our own strength or through any other but in Christ alone. That’s why you need Jesus!

Prayer Point:

Let’s thank God for giving us Jesus Christ. Let’s pray for Mercy for all unbelievers, and let’s ask the Lord to convict them so they will realize their need of a savior. Let’s also pray for God to help all believers to be conscious that their righteousness is in Christ.
