I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
Philippians 4:13 (KJV)

Though life is filled with challenges, there are provisions in Christ for a Christian to overcome these challenges and be all that God has ordained them to be. However, many do not attain God’s best for them because of their mindset. This needs to be addressed, as it is God’s will for us to be all that He has called us to be.

When the Israelites were to enter into the Promised Land, Moses sent 12 spies to spy out the land (Numbers 13:1–33). Though the land was flowing with milk and honey as God told them (Exodus 3:8), 10 of the spies gave a negative report about the land because of the giants they saw (Numbers 13:31–33). Because the congregation yielded to the negative report of those spies, many of the Israelites didn’t inherit the promise, as they died in the wilderness (Numbers 14:26–35, 1 Corinthians 10:1–12).

However, 2 of the 12 spies (Caleb and Joshua) had a different report, and God made them inherit the land (Joshua 14:6–14, Numbers 14:6–9, 24–30).

The reason Caleb and Joshua saw differently was because they had a positive mindset; they believed they could defeat the giants, which represented challenges. This confidence was in them because they saw God with them (Numbers 14:9). Like them, we have to believe that we can and will overcome whatever challenges we may experience on our path of destiny.

This confidence comes when we are aware of God’s presence with us, trusting that He will fulfill His words to us. The 10 spies failed because they thought they would have to face the giants with their own strength, but when we know God as our strength, we will have the faith of Joshua and Caleb.

You can do it, for God is your strength. Remain positive; you will see the promises of God fulfilled in your life.
