Then the presidents and princes sought to find occasion against Daniel concerning the kingdom; but they could find none occasion nor fault; forasmuch as he was faithful, neither was there any error or fault found in him. (Daniel 6:4 KJV)
One of the major reasons we face turbulent and unpleasant times is because of the glorious destinies we carry as children of God. Glory attracts enmity and attacks from the enemy and his agents. The desire of the evil one is that we should not fulfil purpose, and remain debased or destroyed eventhough God has invested so much into our lives.
In our opening text, Daniel was going to be promoted to become the overarching president over the whole kingdom that King Darius ruled over. He was going to be next in command to the king, and suddenly, this glory started attracting envy and wickedness so much so that his colleagues sought to kill him. However, he prevailed not by coincidence or sheer luck but by believing in his God as recorded in Dan. 6:23.
Many times, we become targets because of the glorious destiny we carry, and all manner of trials and attacks may be coming our way. Some of them might even be life-threatening. This provides an opportunity to demonstrate our faith in God by believing in Him wholeheartedly in the face of these challenges. When we pray like Daniel did, we give permission for God to intervene in our affairs, and he can then release reinforcement from heaven to dislodge any gang up or attack against us. These attacks might take the shape of natural occurrences, but if we look closer, we will see the hand of the wicked one behind them, like the case of Job.
As children of the kingdom with prophecies and promises over our lives, one of the ways to stay victorious is to keep confessing every word we have received from the Lord over our lives daily to see it fulfilled because the devil is banking on us keeping quiet about our heritage which the Lord has given to us Ps 115:16. We must, therefore, not be worried but rather prepared for constant victories when the enemy launches his fiery darts our way.
Prayer point:
Let’s thank God for His word today. Let’s pray that the Lord will surround us with his wall of fire and make us a rock of offense to our enemies.
