No one who puts a hand to the plow and looks back is fit for service in the kingdom of God. ย Luke 9:62 NIV

As believers, the moment we come into the knowledge of the truth which is found in Jesus Christ, we are called to commit ourselves fully and place our complete trust in God. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me (John 14:6).

When we give our lives to Christ, we are choosing to forsake our old ways and follow Him wholeheartedly, not looking back but pressing forward. As Scripture says, Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new (2 Corinthians 5:17). And again, No one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back is fit for the kingdom of God (Luke 9:62).

However, the pressures and trials of life can sometimes cause believers to return to the very things they once renounced. Like the Israelites in the wilderness, some are tempted to go back to Egypt in times of difficulty (Exodus 14:11-12). Yet we are reminded in Hebrews 10:39: But we are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who have faith and preserve their souls.

I pray that God will grant us the grace to remain steadfast and focused on Christ, regardless of the trials we may face. May we echo the words of Paul: “I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 3:14). In Jesusโ€™ name, Amen.

Do not turn back, no matter how difficult the journey becomes. Keep your eyes on Jesus and press forward in faith. Be Encouraged!!!
