Title: Channels of Divine Direction

I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye. (Psalm 32:8 KJV)
God is always willing to direct us, and there are many ways he can choose to communicate his mind to us. When God is about to do a thing, he will look for his prophets to reveal his agenda to. In this present time, a man or woman can be the prophet over the home, and if such a person is in alignment, the plans of God will be accessible to them. The most common ways are through dreams and visions, prophecy and through his word. However, I would like to explore other means through which God can direct his people.
1. Through God-ordained leaders.
God spoke expressly through Moses to the children of Israel for a long number of years. In fact, from Num. Chapters 6 to 10, it all started with “And the Lord spake unto Moses…” and also in subsequent chapters. There are men God has ordained to lead us in his ways, and as part of their service, God communicates his mind for us through them. By saying this, I do not mean every Pastor or teacher. You will know through the Holy Spirit, the leader God has ordained over your life to help you navigate life and destiny.
2. Witnesses.
One of the ways that God directs us is through multiple witnesses saying the same thing to you at different places and times, without them knowing each other. It may be a decision you are about to make, and you are worried because you have not heard from God via the channels he normally communicates through.
3. Through deep knowing
One of the quietest yet strongest channels of divine direction is an inner witness, a deep knowing placed in our spirit by the Holy Spirit (Romans 8:16). This is not emotion or impulse; it is a settled conviction that aligns with Godโs Word.
When Nehemiah heard about Jerusalemโs broken walls, something stirred deeply within him. That burden was divine direction.
Deep knowing comes through intimacy with God. He guides you from within.
4. Through Angelic Encounters
At times, God directs through angelic encounters. In Scripture, angels delivered clear instructions, such as when Joseph was warned in a dream to flee to Egypt (Matthew 2:13) and when Apostle Paul was in a ship wreck (Acts 27:23-24).
However, angelic messages must align with Godโs Word and purpose.
Our focus is not to seek angels, but to seek God. If He chooses extraordinary means, He will confirm them with His peace and truth.
In conclusion, there are many other channels through which God directs, and what is required of us, his children, is to obey, have a genuine desire to follow him and be steadfast in our walk with him.
Prayer point:
Let us thank God for His word today. Let’s pray that we will never miss his leading at any point in our lives.
